Ramallah

"White Trash" Rob Lind, Blood For Blood's guitarist, vocalist and main songwriter in his solo project... He plays everything in these albums but the drums. Just as powerful as BFB, but on a more serious and conscious side. Pretty much the same musical motifs, but the lyrics tend to take a very different direction. From protesting US attacks all over the Arab world, to the plain, simple and romantic singalong of "Kill A Celebrity":

"I'd love to detonate a car bomb at the doors of your precious MTV
and put some sarin gas in the central A.C. at the V.M.A.'s
and watch those beautiful faces turn ashen gray"

That's beautiful, man...

Blood For Blood

This here is one of my favorite hardcore bands of all time. These is pure misanthropia. They take pride in their "White Trash" heritage, and have absolutely no sense of humor about it, and almost about anything else for that matter. Seeing these guys live was a mind blowing experience... One of the tightest bands I've ever heard live. Some people tend to get a bit antagonistic towards this kind of music, since it takes it self a bit too seriously, but if you listen to the music, it's some some of the best pissed off music around, not to mention it's car stereo potential. Rock & Roll!!!

Brian Setzer - Rockin' By Myself - Live Deluxe (1993)

This is the official proof that this guy is one of the greatest guitar players that ever lived. This guy is alone in front of a crowd of Japanese people (which means a lot of people), playing a guitar and singing, and somehow everyone in the crowd is boppin'. This guy has such a natural rhythm that even when he goes into a solo you still can't stop headbanging. A big ol' Gretsch, an acoustic guitar and a banjo is all he uses, except for a couple of covers he performs absolutely beautifully with his brother Gary Setzer (who is a pretty decent guitarist himself, but it is understood that he is there to give Brian his back-up, and nothing more). A great live album, especially if you play some guitar. Includes great covers to alot of Rock N Roll classics like I Fought the Law, Bye Bye Love, Be-Bop-A-Lula, along with some Elvis and Eddie Cochran tunes, plus of course, the Stray Cats' and Setzer's old favs.

Dear Members of SLAPSHOT

Your post is deleted. Thanks for being cool about it, and asking instead of just getting the links deleted, unlike other bands and record companies. You guys rock, and I like you even more now.

Peace
Elparvar

Spinal Tap

"That's the majesty of rock
The pageantry of roll
The crowing of the cock
The running of the foal
The shepherd with his flock
The miner with his coal
We're in this together...and ever..."

Fishbone (Fixed Links)

Well, I guess they're fundamentally a Ska-Punk band, but oh, so much more. From soft Motown-style R&B to Hardcore, from Reggae and Ska to Metal, from soulful Gospel tunes to fast pacing Punk Rock all in a big ol' bowl of political and social sarcasm. The biggest Fishbone-heads claim that the line-up changes throughout the years have made the band's street-cred decline. But as we all know, if you call yourself an "Anything-head", you are in fact, an idiot. The dynamics between these unbelievable musicians is one of the most original, refreshing and exciting circus shows you'll ever want to see, and if you ask me, the music they make now is much more interesting than what the original line-up was into doing. There's something for everybody here. One of the best bands I know.

Capdown - Wind Up Toys (2007)

Man. this shit isn't even released yet. I almost feel bad... Quite different from the Capdown I used to know, coming much closer to the Melodic Punk Rock areas. Very good album though. These guys are great musicians, and there are some very original ideas here.

Angel City Outcasts

Gabi, Nadav, Corey, you need to hear this! These guys are awsome... they're from LA, started out as something along the lines of Oi! and evolved into one of the best Rock N Roll bands I've heard recently. The most recommended one, is of course the last one, Deadrose Junction, out on the "I Used to Fuck People Like You In Prison" label. Great music, check it out.

An official Corey recommendation. This is some hectic shit.

Clipse - Hell Hath No Fury (2006)

I was inroduced to this album yesterday by Purple 59 and Johnny the Small... Heard it a couple of times today, and it is indeed insane. Apperantly the Neptunes (and not only that, mostly Pharrell) have this thing where they make these incredible beats for these guys. Nothing like you've heard them make before. I can't even describe it... it's just weird... accordions, you know? Anyway, if you like weird shit, check this album out. Finally starting to carry on the legacy of ODB's Nigga Please. Quality shit.

Well, you probably already know this one... but it's always fun to indulge on this relentless piece of stupidity, attended by 101 of the best and worst bands the genre ever had to offer.

The Peacocks - It's Time For (2004) Request

Great choice, George! Swiss band, they play sort of a mixture of Rockabilly, Ska, and Punk Rock. If you like the Living End, you'll love these guys. Very intelligent and well expressed ideas in the lyrics, and a Rock N Rollin' good time over all...
