Common Rider - This Is Unity Music (2000)

Classic album... Jesse Michaels from Operation Ivy with a project with hardly as much edge, but at least the equal amount of heart. Very Clash influenced Ska-Rock tunes, just good songwriting.

Alabama Thunderpussy - Fulton Hill (2004)

One of the best bands on Relapse, in my opinion. But them again, I ain't exactly "True", now am I... Stoner Metal with insane lead singer, great songs. Check it.

Murder City Devils - Murder City Devils (1997)

First found out about these guys when I was way into At the Drive-In and I saw they cut a split with them. Great sort of Post-Punk, sorta sounds like The Pixies, although really drunk (instead of really high). Yalla yalla.

Cancer Bats - Birthing the Giant (2006)

OK, now listen to me. This band is fuckin' awesome. Straight-Edge Hadcore with Southern Metal Rock N Roll that just broke my teeth.

Volbeat - Rock the Rebel / Metal the Devil (2007)

Danish band, posted their first album in my old blog (too lazy to get you a link), and for this new one came up many requests. Sorry dude, it's all over the net anyway (You know who you are).

Shortly, it's groovy-as-fuck Rockabilly Metal. For fans of Rock N Roll.

Break-Fast - Vertigo LP (2003)

Break-Fast (genius name) is a Japanese Thrashcore/Grind/Hardcore band from Tokyo. This is one of the first albums to get me interested in Japcore in the first place. Very fast, very hard and quite experimental... Check it.

(Sorry for the very small cover photo. It's really the biggest one available on the net)

Dead Milkmen - Big Lizard in My Backyard (1985)

Death rides a pale cow... The band that proved that Punk Rock, Hillbilly music and a large amount of Non-sensible bullshit can co exist (for about 10 years). Bitchin' Camero, from this album became a fan favorite, and maybe besides Beelzebubba, this here is their classic. If you like the Dead Kennedys and David Allen Coe, you're probably gonna love this.

Extreme - Extreme II: Pornograffitti (A Funked Up Fairy Tale) (1990)

OK get this... They're really a Funk band, with an amazing guitar player. Nuno Bettencourt sounds like a "Happy Dimebag"... he has the same style, he just plays different music. He shreds insane riffs one after the other, while a massive Funk explosion takes place in his background, at times even a horn section is brought to tear the roof of this sucka. Yes, needless to say, if you have even a single cynical bone in your body, you might wanna prevent from listening to More Than Words, which might have been a nice ballad still, if it wasn't so overplayed everywhere (especially since it is completely unrepresentative to the rest of the album), and Song for Love could also stir up some puke in your stomach... But if you don't like Hole Hearted you are probably as cold hearted as a fuckin' Nazi, and you are banished from the blog.
Besides, those two oddities seem to have no effect at all on the thunderously loud Funk Metal mayhem of Get the Funk Out, When I'm President and the title track. Get it NOW! You won't regret it.

Mr. Bungle

All the releases, all the demos... What an incredible band. I think it's safe to say these guys formed the most eclectic band in history. From a Grindcore demo, to a fast and furious Funk Metal debut to the brilliant, life altering California, which is a hell of a contender for the "best album in the world ever in the history of time" category. If this doens't make you wanna come see Patton next month at the Barby, I don't know what will.

Hanson Brothers - My Game (2002)

No, they're not the girly looking boys from MMM-Bop. It's the drummer and guitarist from Nomeansno, doing great, mostly Ramones-influenced Punk Rock, to which they refer to as "Puck Rock", as in songs about Hockey (a sport I never got). They're name is actually a tribute to some Hockey movie from '77 called Slap Shot. Whatever... good album.

Tenacious D

Yes... it's time.

"The next band asked me not to read this, but goddammit... I'm gonna read it anyway
! Because I wrote it... and it's the truth. I Fucking love this band! They are the best band ever, PERIOD!"

Can't stop watching The Pick of Destiny, and these two are insanely good albums, by two
ridiculously talented and funny individuals.

Hot Water Music - The New What Next (2004)

So first of all, I wanted to apologize for not posting anything in a while... just haven't been to work that much lately.

Anyway, this is an album Avital asked me to post a whole lotta time ago... but I failed...
Anyway, I got it now, OK?!

I presume that if you know this blog, you know this band, and I really don't have to start writing how fuckin' awesome they are...

Rites Of Spring - End On End (1991)

A sort of compilation. It's their album and EP on one record. Sort of an 80's melodic hardcore - proto-emo band. I'm really too tired to write anything else.
