Crash Test Dummies

Not much terror, but a lot of good songs. This Canadian band was around since 1991, and besides the huge hit they had with 1993's Mmm Mmm Mmm Mmm, no one really gave a damn about these guys. Since then they released a lot of albums, most of them on indie labels, experimenting with everything from Hip-Hop to Country & Western. My personal-nostalgic fav is 1999's Give Yourself A Hand, which was recorded after a year that Brad Roberts (singer and main songwriter) has spent living in Harlem, NY, collecting tons of groove infected influences. Wonderful albums, wonderful songs, this dude has a great deep voice, and it's eclectic as hell, so there must be at least 1 album for every kind of music lover here. Go nuts.

Thanks a lot. Great post, great band. The site hosting Give Yourself A Hand isn't letting me download the file though.
