Walter Schreifels
On with the Gorilla Biscuits family tree... These are Walter's major projects... from the Quicksand albums that were in the spirit of many hardcore oriented Alternative Metal bands of that time, like Tool or Life Of Agony, through Rival Schools, a major label Emo-Rock band that didn't last as long as some executives hoped it will, to the straight singer-songwriter power-popped Walking Concert...
Couldn't get my hands on the Moondog album, though believe me, I tried.
1993 - Quicksand - Slip
1995 - Quicksand - Manic Compression
2001 - Rival Schools - United By Fate
2004 - Walking Concert - Run to Be Born

CIV
Anthony "CIV" Civocelli, formerly singer for the Gorilla Biscuits, in his post-biscuit band, named after himself... Although there was only one man in this band that wasn't a member of the Gorilla Biscuits at some point... The first album, Set Your Goals, is positive, happy, hard rockin' and many times swingin' Punk Rock n Roll. You might even recall the video for "Can't Wait One Minute More". The second album, Thirteen Day Getaway, is a huge disappointment for many fans. You can really hear the lack of passion in this cheezy pop-punk record from the first chord... Only some of the songs are OK. I guess that's what happens when you sign a NY Hardcore pioneer to Atlantic.
Gorilla Biscuits
If you're anything like me, listening to these two albums gets you nostalgic and feeling a little old. Even though when both of them came out I was 6 year old ( and mostly into Michael Jackson music), this is one of the first bands you fall in love with when you get into punk and hardcore. Each and every one of these songs is an anthem, and should be taught in schools all over the world.

Rebel Meets Rebel - Rebel Meets Rebel (2006)
One more "copied" post from my older blog. The link is new, though.
Rebel Meets Rebel are:
David Allen Coe - Vocals
Dimebag Darrel R.I.P.- Guitar
Vinnie Paul - Drums
Rex Brown - Bass
In other words it's PANTERA (minus Philip Anselmo) with long time outlaw country renegade David Allen Coe. Coe and Dimebag met in 1990 and apparently hit it off immediately. They vowed to record an album together. 9 years later they started work on Rebel Meets Rebel, when DAC is the lyric man, and Dimebag on the riffs. It was recorded in on-and-off sessions throughout the next 4 years (usualy during Anselmo's little "breaks" from Pantera. Until the final one, that is), and was delayed from release because of the tragic, stupid and utterly heart-breaking death of Dimebag during a Damageplan show in Ohio in 2004. Produced by Vinnie Paul, this album is a Hard Rock, Country & Blues mixture, played with freedom and looseness that are usualy unavailable on Pantera records. An unbelievable little piece of Rock N Roll history. Get it NOW!
Midnight Evils - Straight 'Til Morning (2003)
Hard Punk N Roll from Minnesota... members of the band took it from the Ramones and changes all their last names to "Evil"... now that's Rock N Roll devotion, right there.

James Brown, The Godfather of Soul, R.I.P. 1933 - 2006
Where would the world of music be without this dude? Probably in a much less funky place...
Put on your Hot Pants and give props to this true revolutionary that was the heart and soul of the life-altering invention that is Tha Funk. This is probably all I could've found on the web, if you find more, let me know. Also, unfortantley, some of these links are Megaupload, so you may have to install the toolbar for the Godfather.
