Ol' Dirty Bastard - Nigga Please (1999)
I REALLY love this one. Funky and funny as hell and ODB is nothing short of a genius... In the first Wu-Tang album, Method Man explains that ODB is called "Ol' Dirty Bastard", cuz there ain't no father to his style. I wouldn't say that. You got Screaming Jay Hawkins, Tom Waits, Lee Scratch Perry and Rick James, who are in many ways, "fathers" to such blunt insanity in music and in singing.
But there is no doubt that ODB was THE most original MC to come out of... well... Hip Hop, I guess.
The Neptunes are responsible for most of the beats on this one, long before they were anywhere near being as big as they are right now. It's nice to hear a song that features Pharrell, and the title doesn't state so. Of course, track three is a cover version for Rick James' Cold Blooded... If that doesn't get you to download this album, like, RIGHT NOW, then you really have no business here. Leave.
